Rufus L. "R.L." Hux

Rufus L. “R.L.” Hux, age 89, of Morristown, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at his home.  He was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Alexander and Elva Bales Hux; sisters, Emma Forrest Ball and Reba Shipley.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce R. Hux; daughters, Rachel Hux Mitchell (Kevin) and Sheila Hux Collins (Beecher); grand-daughter, Danielle Mitchell Lowe (Nick); sister, Sally Kate Vaughn; brother, Alex Ray Hux of Georgia; special nephew, Terry Ball; in-laws, June Wilder, Muriel Collins, Linda White, Clyde Rickard, David Rickard, Roy Rickard, Keith Rickard (Lonna); along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 5 – 7 P.M.  at Buffalo Trail Baptist Church.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Dr. Keith Mowery officiating.  Family and friends will meet at Hamblen Memory Gardens Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. for a graveside/interment service.

Pallbearers will be Terry Ball, Clyde, David, Roy and Keith Rickard.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Hospice for all the care and concern during R.L.’s sickness.
