Steven Jerome Bowlin, 69, of Morristown, passed away peacefully and was called home to the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He attended Friendly View & New Beginnings Church and was saved on March 23, 1969.
Steve was born on July 26, 1956, in Morristown, and was the second of four children. He joined the U.S. Military and served his country for 23 years and was honorably discharged. Upon completion of his service, he then volunteered for Loudon County Jail. He met his wife, Lisa, in 1987 and they married in 1992. They were together for 39 years. He loved his family more than anything and also enjoyed watching sports.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Mae Bowlin and Hobert “June” Bowlin; his daughter, Chrystal Bowlin; and his brother-in-law, Randy Holdway.
Steve is survived by his wife, Lisa Bowlin; his children Joshua (Nichole) Bowlin, Carey (Justin) Watkins, Isabella Bowlin, Shana (Jimbo) Foulks, Heather (Dave) Ogle; his grandchildren, AnnLee, Rylan, Mayson, Shiloh, Layke, Emersyn, Cayden, Hayley, Jayde, Ashton; and his sisters, Rita Holdway, Lisa (Eddie) Bradley, and Mae “Nana” (Johnny) Owens; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 5 – 7 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. A celebration of Steve’s life and funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Military/graveside services will be Monday, May 11, 2026, at the VA Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home at 11:00 a.m.
